Golden section around us
Černá, Michala ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Dvořák, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the golden section. This a guided background research already represents a cross-section of the currently available literature. The term golden section is first defined. Subsequently, the states in which forms can appear golden section (eg Fibonacci sequence, golden rectangle and other geometric shapes that are closely related to the golden section). The very essence of the work is to inform the reader with the disciplines in which we can meet the golden section. The two largest sectors are nature and art, which are further subdivided into other sectors. Degree of difficulty of the document is adapted to a wide scope of potential readers. The aim is to create a comprehensive set of disciplines related to the golden section. Contribution of the thesis is critical and factual insight into the problems of the golden section, which is interested in literature rarely about. Key words: Golden section, number Fibonacci sequence
The Golden Section
Moravcová, Vlasta ; Šarounová, Alena (advisor)
Title of the master's thesis: The Golden Section Author: Bc. Vlasta Chmelíková Abstract: This text has been written especially as an educational material for secondary school teachers of mathematics and descriptive geometry, however it can be interesting also for students of secondary schools and universities and for another persons interes- ted in problems of the golden section. The thesis includes a calculation and properties of the golden number, several construction methods of the golden section, its occurence and use in plane and solid geometry, history of the golden section and its connections with art, architecture, nature, psychology, etc. In addition, there are added examples from older textbooks and proposals of the jobsheets for improvement of the mathematics lessons.
Golden section
Novotná, Gabriela ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Dvořák, Petr (referee)
Golden Section Gabriela Novotná Abstract The first chapters of this thesis deal not only with the history, but also with the present of the golden section. It details the first references on record, describe the beginning of its intuitive and later also intentional usage, designation and terminology, and examines its application into the modern world. It also relates the lives of several personalities, too, above all Euclid, Plato, Leonardo Fibbonacci and Leonardo da Vinci. Then the thesis descibes the theoretical part aspects - expressions of the golden proportion and the golden number, as well as geometrical contructions on the basis of different default parameters. It investiates the golden figures and those which are derived from them and it shows connections between the golden section and Fibonacci numbers. In the following chapters the solid figures related to the golden section are examined. The next part deals with practical application and contains my own research. It analyses the so-called 'magical aspect' of the golden section, i.e. if the figures designed according to this ratio are really the most delightfull and the most appreciated ones. Finally, few specimen exercises for the secondary students are shown.

Perception of beauty - biological vs. cultural determinants
Obdržálková, Zita ; Soukup, Václav (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with problems of biological and cultural determinants influencing perception of beauty. It attempts to find out if there is a common biological basis of perception of beauty or if beauty represents merely a sociocultural construct - product of a specific culture. With respect to biological determinants it concerns biological processes significantly influencing perception of beauty. In this context, these processes include probably innate evolutionary adaptations, effects of brain cognitive systems and neural correlates processing perceptions of beautiful objects. In connection with cultural determinants it presents studies emphasizing cross-cultural differences in perception of beauty. Further subject of the thesis is an aesthetic conception of subjective and objective beauty and related concept of beauty based on mathematical relations. In this connection, the creation of universally beautiful objects based on fixed mathematical rules as well as the possibility of exact measurement of beauty are discussed.

Math around us - issue of the Golden section
CUKROVÁ, Jana
Diploma thesis is intended as material for general public. The thesis includes construction methods of the Golden Section and calculation of the Golden Number and its properties. It makes aquainted with the history of the Golden Section and its shows occurrence in a plane geometry. The thesis describes the connection between the Golden Number and the Fibonacci Sequence, occurrence of the Golden Section, Fibonacci Sequnce and the logarithmic spirals in nature in both proportions of living organisms and in plants and on the human body. The text is completed with illustractive figures drawn mostly in GeoGebra. The Golden Number properties and the plane constructions are given. The Golden Section is completed with photos.
Golden section around us
ČADKOVÁ, Andrea
The issue of the golden section is unknown for many people and that is the reason why my main aim was to find out and acceptably define basic information about the golden ratio and its occurrence around us. The golden section occurs in different forms in our lives. The chapters describing a detailed description of an occurrence of the golden section around us are the part of the work. The constructions of the golden section in different geometrical shapes are also the part of the work. These constructions are illustrated mainly by geometrical program GeoGebra. One of the chapters focuses on relationship between Fibonacci sequence and the golden number.
Issue of the golden section and its occurrence in our surroundings
BELEJOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis deals with a topic of the golden section and its occurrence in our surroundings. A goal of the thesis is to describe a character of the golden section and to show basic constructions used for its drawing. An important part of this thesis is a chapter focusing on a regular pentagon. Concluding chapters are devoted to a use of the golden section and a presentation of its occurrence around us. Attached supplementary construction drawings were made by using GeoGebra software.
The golden section
